Simone Menezes is the founder and director of Ensemble K, a pioneering chamber music orchestra celebrated for its cosmopolitan vision of classical music. She has collaborated this season with orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony, BBC Scottish Symphony, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Sao Paulo Orchestra and Manchester Camerata. Additionally, she returned to conduct a tour with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra. In 2023, she released Menezes' album "Amazonia," showcasing the works of Philip Glass and Heitor Villa-Lobos, a project she also brought to life alongside the acclaimed photographer Sebastiao Salgado. Still in 2023, Ensemble K's DVD "Metanoia" won the International Classical Music Awards as the best "Performance & Documentaries," and Simone was honored as one of the "100 femmes de culture" in France.
